Gay owned and run accommodation, and lodgings, bed and breakfast hotel and inn for the independent gay travel ler near Hersonissos, Crete, Greece
There are many guide books detailing both Greece and Crete. When it comes to archaeology and historical sites then of course, there is not a lot to choose between them! Personally I find ‘The Rough Guide’ and ‘The Lonely Planet’ series about the best with ‘The Rough Guides’ having a slight edge over the Lonely Planet series, mainly because I like the writing style in The Rough Guide! But be aware that these guide books are written quite often months in advance of publication and that information on bars and restaurants can be inaccurate!
For those intending to do a lot of driving, throw away the map that comes free with your hire car and go out and buy a proper map when you get here!
We do have a selection of guide books and maps available which we will be happy to lend to those who are only going on odd days out and so have no need to buy .
In general the guides dealing with Crete are extracted from the full Greek guide books. Unless you are never intending to visit Greece again (unlikely!), we suggest you buy the full Greece guides.
We have included a couple of phrase books here as well, the one on the left is available at bargain prices from Amazon sellers as it is now out of print! It is actually a Collins edition reprinted especially for the Rough Guide series and contains swear words as well!
